This year, due to a small harvest of acorns in the zoo, we announced the need for assistance from all concerned in the preparation of these useful delicacies for ungulates. Acorns are used for the prevention of gastrointestinal diseases, as bait, etc.
Mykolaiv Zoo thanks all who joined the help to animals. Thank you to the kids who came for a walk to the zoo with a bag of hand-picked acorns, thank you to the adults who took the time to collect acorns for us – some a couple of kilograms, and some a bucket.
And today we received a parcel from Chernihiv. It contained almost 400 kg of acorns and interesting souvenirs from this ancient city. Chernihiv residents learned about our problem and decided to help. They carried out the whole campaign under the "code name" "Acorn from Chernihiv region -> to Mykolaiv Zoo". Volunteers from Chernihiv collected acorns, packed them in bags, and also raised funds for the delivery of goods.
