April 8 is Day of Zoo Lovers. Every year, millions of people visit zoos and learn about the plenty of animals that live there. Many zoos are breeding centers for endangered animals.

Our Mykolaiv Zoo is one of the objects of the Nature Reserve Fund of Ukraine, which keeps and breeds wild animals, especially endangered and rare ones, listed in the Red Book of Ukraine and international Red Lists. It is important to understand that this kind of activity is important at the state level and contributes its share to the preservation of nature in Ukraine.

One of the main functions of the zoo is environmental education, which has a positive impact on people's outlook and will turn education into the most important component of environmental protection activities.

In our zoo, ecological and educational campaigns, ecological lectures are constantly held, a lot of ecological and educational content is created: ecological videos, articles. Young naturalists of Mykolaiv Zoo actively participate in environmental actions. During such classes, children learn how to behave during recreation in nature, learn interesting facts about the animal and plant world of the zoo and the nature of their native land. Traveling through our park, you can not only relax, but also familiarize yourself with ecologically educational information on your own, it is located on stands and labels. There are labels both on enclosures with animals and near plants.

Despite the difficult times that our country is experiencing today, Mykolaiv Zoo is actively working and receiving visitors. And as a reward for this, every day we hear pleasant and inspiring comments from our visitors:
