On May 6, one of our wonderful, playful, active elephants celebrates his birthday – the Asian elephant (Elephas maximus) named Shanti. Our giant turns 17!
Shanti was born in Hanover Zoo, in 2019 he arrived at Mykolaiv Zoo together with his friend Dinkar.
Now our elephants are favorites of the public, they are very interesting to watch. The elephants in Mykolaiv Zoo have a large comfortable enclosure with pools, where the animals can show their diverse behavior. They run, swim in the pool, dive, arrange tournaments, and, like young, energetic guys, sometimes do harm. But both employees and visitors love them very much and today we are happy to congratulate Shanti on his birthday! Will you go to visit Shanti?
