To the Independence Day of Ukraine, the employees of the department of ecological and educational work together with young naturalists conducted a thematic excursion "The Fairytale World of Grandfather's Hut" in Mykolaiv Zoo. We greeted all visitors who attended the excursion with bread and salt. Accepting a towel, kissing bread and eating a piece with salt — all this symbolized spiritual unity, harmony, deep respect for guests.
During the excursion, everyone was able to familiarize themselves with the interesting exhibits of our small museum – the ethnographic yard "Grandfather's Hut". Children and adults were able to find out how people lived in a village in the South of Ukraine decades ago, what they use a ruble, a millstone, a threshing wheel, what a yoke, a dove, a kotsyuba are.
"Grandfather's Hut" is also the territory of a contact zoo, where you can feed and pet animals. Everyone in a group fed the cute residents of the yard: goats, sheep, turkeys. The visitors also got acquainted with the features of the Taurian painting, which is now decorated with the hut.
The staff of Mykolaiv Zoo congratulates Ukraine on Independence Day and wishes everyone inexhaustible energy and boundless optimism in accomplishing great things for our Motherland. Let the fire of patriotism always burn in our hearts, and faith in ourselves and in our Ukraine will be an unbreakable support on the way to VICTORY!
We suggest viewing photos from the event taken by our young photographers.
