Every year on January 11 Ukraine celebrates the Day of Reserves and National Parks.
Reserves and national parks - specially protected natural areas - today are probably the only way to protect at least a small part of wildlife from extinction.
Reserves and National Parks Day was first celebrated in 1997 at the initiative of the Center for Wildlife Conservation and the World Wildlife Fund. The purpose of this day is to form the worldview of people that reserves and national parks are the highest form of nature protection in our country.
Congratulations to all employees of reserves and national parks who are trying to make wildlife conservation as effective as possible. We wish them success in their difficult but necessary task!
