Holidays like Halloween belong to many peoples of the world. They are celebrated during the transition from a full, warm, generous autumn to a cold, hungry, exhausting winter. With the help of riotous fun, games, jokes, people tried to overcome the fear of cold, diseases, of unknown forces of nature...
And in many zoos of the world, this holiday is an occasion to tell people about animals that are connected with creepy mystical legends and beliefs. It was about such animals that we talked about during today's excursion-quest, trying to explain to our visitors that any animal, even a "terrifying one", is a part of living nature, an interesting living creature.
We used the Halloween holiday as an excuse to tell people about such "terrible" animals – bats, wolves, rats, snakes, spiders. Today, our visitors were able to learn about the origin and real basis of mystical beliefs, as well as the real role of these animals in nature. Children and adults during a mystical costume excursion from a magical witch talked to animals, completed interactive tasks, and also received mystical predictions and small prizes for correct answers to quiz questions.
For those who did not have time to attend our event today, we remind you that another educational lecture "Animals in mystical legends and in nature" will be held on October 31 at 2 p.m.
