Birthday boy Shanti

Happy birthday, mighty Shanti!

On May 6, 2021, our Asian elephant (Lat. Elephas maximus) named Shanti celebrates his birthday. He is 13 years old.

Shanti was born in 2008 at Hannover Zoo. Arrived at Mykolaiv Zoo from Hungary on November 10, 2019, not alone, but with his friend Dinkar. The animals were transferred under The European Endangered Species Programme (EEP).

By nature the birthday boy is calm and "intelligent". During regular trainings behaves diligently and obediently, always performs all commands. And Shanti is very patient, because to withstand all the antics of the brawler Dinkar is a difficult task!

Today, the birthday boy Shanti and his friend Dinkar received a gift as an enrichment of their environment "vitamin cake".
