On August 6, 2025, our Asian elephant (Elephas maximus) Dinkar celebrates his anniversary. He turns 15!
Before coming to us, this young elephant has already changed 3 zoos. The fact is that Dinkar is a real troublemaker. He is very active, playful and wayward. But it is precisely such restless animals that are universal favorites.
Dinkar was born in 2010 at Hanover Zoo. Dinkar arrived at Mykolaiv Zoo from Hungary on November 10, 2019 together with his friend Shanti. The animals were transferred under the European Endangered Species Programme (EEP).
Today, young biologists of the zoo together with the department employees congratulated Dinkar on his birthday. For the birthday boy and the guest of the holiday, the elephant Shanti, we prepared delicious treats – fresh fruits, juicy watermelons, fragrant melons, crispy corn, cucumbers, sweet bananas.
