International Day of Reserves and National Parks

January 11, the world celebrates International Day of Reserves and National Parks. This date was first celebrated in 1997 at the initiative of the Center for Wildlife Conservation and the World Wildlife Fund. The purpose of this day is to spread information about the network of protected areas and that reserves and national parks are one of the most effective forms of nature protection in our country.

Mykolaiv Zoo joins in celebration of this day. The zoo is an object of the nature reserve fund of Ukraine, which keeps and breeds wild animals, especially endangered, rare, listed on the Red Book of Ukraine and the international Red Lists. It is important to understand that such activities contribute to the preservation of the nature of Ukraine.

Congratulations to all employees of reserves and national parks who are trying to make wildlife conservation as effective as possible. We wish them success in their difficult but necessary task!
