International Chameleon Day will be celebrated for the first time on May 9, 2024. The action was initiated by the nature conservation organization Wildlife Madagascar. The purpose of this holiday is to raise awareness about these unique and very vulnerable animals.
Chameleons definitely deserve a separate holiday dedicated to them: they are unlike any other species on Earth, they capture the imagination of people and need protection. We hope that International Chameleon Day will encourage people to appreciate and admire chameleons more.
International Chameleon Day encourages people to appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of chameleons, while encouraging a sense of responsibility for their conservation and the preservation of their habitat. The day provides an opportunity for individuals, conservation organizations, zoos and aquariums, and community groups around the world to come together, share knowledge and take action to protect the future of chameleons.
We offer our visitors to join the celebration and, taking advantage of the opportunity, admire the chameleons in the exhibit of Mykolaiv Zoo!
