On July 24, 2019, specialists of Mykolaiv zoo released 7 (seven) white storks in the area of Tryhaty village of the Mykolaiv region.
The aforementioned storks were brought by the inhabitants of the region to Mykolaiv zoo as animals suffering from the disaster. In the zoo they were given veterinary care. During their stay at the zoo, these storks were specifically kept separately and not socialized for better adaptation in the wild nature. Birds are released before the autumn migration, so that they can successfully join the storks that live in nature.
Reintroduction was successful, the birds flew up and joined the natural population of storks living in the release area.
