Yucca (Lat. Yucca L.) – winter hardy and exotic.

When the yucca blooms, hundreds of its white, cream-green, yellow bells look really amazing. The flowers form a raceme from 0.5 to 2.5 m in length, which can stand upright or down.

In the homeland (North and Central America) the plant is not only an element of decor, but also an industrial culture. Sugar is extracted from the juice of flowers. Strong ropes are made using fibers extracted from the leaves.

"Tree of happiness" – so called the yucca. It is believed that it brings good luck and prosperity to its owners. Yucca – beauty, benefits and luck in one plant.

In Mykolaiv Zoo the yucca can be seen on the main square near bushes of a hydrangea tree and near a peony tree.
