Sweet mock orange or English dogwood (Lat. Philadelphus)

This plant received its Latin name in honor of the king of Egypt Ptolemy Philadelphus, and it is called English dogwood because of its strong wood with a soft core were made stems and mouthpieces for smoking pipes.

Sweet mock orange is a very beautiful shrub with luxurious fragrant flowers that cover it as a blanket.

You can see this plant near the summer enclosure for turtles.

Stay with us and do not miss the flowering in Mykolaiv Zoo.
