Holidays like Halloween are common to many peoples of the world. They are celebrated during the transition from a full, warm, generous autumn to a cold, hungry, exhausting winter. With the help of impetuous fun, games, jokes, people tried to overcome the fear of cold, diseases, the unknown forces of nature...
Many animals in folklore and other arts appear to people as unknowable, horrible, dangerous. We talked about such animals during today's excursion-quest, trying to explain to our visitors that any animal, even "scary", is part of wildlife, an interesting living creature. And we used the holiday Halloween as an occasion to tell people about such "horrible" animals as bats, wolves, owls, snakes, spiders.
Also today, we regaled the animals with treats hidden in a traditional Halloween pumpkin.
