"Dragons of Mykolaiv Zoo" – that's what we called a series of educational articles about the animals of our zoo, dedicated to the symbol of the New Year 2024. The date of the Chinese New Year depends on the lunar cycles – the beginning of the new year falls on the second new moon after the winter solstice. In 2024, Chinese New Year will fall on February 10.

According to the Eastern calendar, the symbol of the new year will be the Green Wooden Dragon. In Chinese astrology, this animal has powerful energy and is considered one of the strongest signs. Despite the possible risks, the dragon impresses with its flexibility and ability to adapt to various conditions.
