On June 23, 2020, a male Bactrian camel calf was born to the camel family at Mykolaiv Zoo. He was named Zaurbek.
Zaurbek spent the first three years of his life at Mykolaiv Zoo. Then, at the request of Odesa BIO Park and under a breeding agreement, he was transferred to Odesa on October 10, 2023.
He successfully fulfilled the important breeding role for which he had been sent. On June 1, 2025, a healthy female calf was born to the female camel at Odesa BIO Park.
Today, the young camel arrived at Mykolaiv Zoo, where she received her new name – Leyla.
