Every year on 3 March, people around the world celebrate World Wildlife Day. This holiday was first celebrated in 2013. Since then, the day has served as a regular reminder of the vulnerability of the world’s wildlife and the urgent need to protect it.
The theme of World Wildlife Day 2025, “Financing Wildlife Conservation: Investing in People and Planet,” explores how we can work together to make our current financial flows more effective and sustainable to build a sustainable future for both people and planet. With over 1 million species estimated to be threatened with extinction, and in the face of a growing planetary crisis, funding wildlife conservation is more urgent than ever.
Mykolaiv Zoo, like other zoos around the world, makes a significant contribution to the conservation of wildlife, conducting various educational events and forming populations of rare animals in zoo conditions, breeding these animals. By supporting the zoo, you are making your contribution to nature conservation!
