World Water Day has been celebrated since 1993. On this day, events dedicated to increasing public awareness of the importance of preserving and developing water resources are held. The purpose of events dedicated to this date is to draw attention to the problems of drinking water quality, the need to protect water resources and their rational use.
Mykolaiv fully experienced the value and irreplaceability of clean drinking water for human life. Water is also vital for animals. Mykolaiv Zoo, like the whole city, has been facing the problem of a lack of drinking water since last year, and our animals need a lot of water. Try to calculate how much clean water is needed to at least to water our animals every day. And water is needed for cleaning, many animals need water for bathing. Imagine how much fresh water is needed, for example, for a hippopotamus to bathe.
We hope that there is no need to tell the people of Mykolaiv about the need for rational use of drinking water! But you can inform about the value of fresh water to your friends and acquaintances from other cities, supported by memories from your own experience, thus getting involved in the celebration of World Water Day.
