The column "Cozy corners of Mykolaiv Zoo" is gradually gaining momentum, just as, despite everything, a real warm spring is quickly coming to us.
Today we invite you to Mykolaiv Zoo to admire the meadows of bright yellow flowers that look like miniature sunflowers. Lesser celandine or pilewort – that's what this early spring flower is called. This plant is not only very decorative, but also has medicinal properties, it is mainly used to treat skin diseases. And lesser celandine is also a wonderful early spring honey plant, you can see bees on the flowers even now. At night and in rainy weather, the flowers are closed to preserve heat and protect pollen from moisture, so choose a sunny day for a walk around the zoo to see the blooming meadow.
You can find entire meadows of bright yellow flowers not far from the entrance to the zoo, almost opposite the flamingo enclosure. There are also comfortable benches where you can relax, admiring the flowers and watching the commotion of insects.
