Thanks to the care and environmental awareness of Mykolaiv residents, they managed to collect hundreds of kilograms of plastic bottle caps. In particular, one of the collection points was the eco-fish in Mykolaiv Zoo.
The other day, all the caps from the location were collected for processing and future assistance to our defenders.
According to Mykola Hruby, head of the "Kinburn" Public Organization, the eco-sculpture was previously located on the Kinburn Spit, where it helped in the collection of caps. Subsequently, another such sculpture appeared in the zoo in 2020 with the assistance of the "Kinburn" Public Organization and the European environmental association "Emblas".
"After the previous seasons, we and our colleagues from Kherson made plates, benches, and sculptures from recycled caps for children to support their ecological knowledge," he said.
Yehor Kosorukov, head of the Mykolaiv directorate of JSC "Ukrposhta", noted that the company will help deliver caps for recycling.
"We offered our help in taking all this cargo to the city of Dnipro today. There will be a process of processing these caps into souvenir products, toys, the proceeds from the sale of which will be transferred to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We are bringing our joint victory closer by all means and methods," he said.
It should be noted that the young biologists of Mykolaiv Zoo and caring citizens took part in the action. Mykolaiv residents are further urged to collect caps and hand them over to collection points.
