From March 20 to 23, 2026, the 13th annual meeting of zoo enthusiasts and collectors of zoo-related materials, “ZooFanatika”, took place at Zoological garden Hluboká nad Vltavou (Czech Republic).
This event was dedicated to supporting Ukrainian zoos, which continue to face difficult circumstances. After the initial wave of solidarity, the financial situation of Ukrainian zoos is now even worse than at the beginning of the war. Therefore, all proceeds from the auction will be used to support them.
Representatives of three zoos that are members of the Association of Zoos of Ukraine (AZU) attended the international event “ZooFanatika.” Among the invited participants were: Yuri Kyrychenko, Deputy Director for Zootechnical Issues (Municipal Institution Mykolaiv Zoo); Vitalii Yakubets, Deputy Director for Maintenance, and Yuliia Vyshnevska, Head of the Terrarium and Aquarium Department (Rivne Zoo); Lidiia Osadcha, Head of the Mammals Department, and Oksana Koval, Head of the Birds Department (Cherkasy Zoo “ROSHEN”).
Our colleagues spoke about the situation in Ukrainian zoos and expressed their gratitude for the financial support of the Association of Zoos of Ukraine.
