Today, Mykolaiv Zoo received help from Swedish volunteer Martin Johansson, who has been helping our region since the beginning of the full-scale war. Martin helps animals, the zoo, and animal shelters, because he loves animals very much (a small volunteer, the dog Doris, arrived with him in Ukraine). Martin also provides assistance to the affected residents of our region (for example, he helped with the restoration of roofs of buildings in Ochakiv, with the restoration of a school in Nova Odesa, etc.). Funds for the purchase of animal feed and other expenses are collected by various Swedish, English, and American charitable organizations. This time, contributions to the purchase of feed were made by Tree of Pets AB and Stora Höga Hund & Kattbutik AB. Today, Martin brought 1 ton of cat food and 1.5 tons of dog food to the zoo, which will be used to feed carnivores at Mykolaiv Zoo. Animal feed was also brought for the Municipal Enterprise "Animal Protection Center".
We thank Martin and everyone who was involved in organizing aid to Ukraine, including the organization of aid to animals, because, as the slogan of Mykolaiv Zoo states, “only through our joint efforts will we preserve the world of wild animals!”
