International Birdwatching Days

The International Autumn Birdwatching Days take place from September 30 to October 1, this is an annual event that has been held in all countries of the world for over 30 years and attracts as many public and young people as possible. The results are reported to the national offices (in Ukraine - the office of the Society for the Protection of Birds of Ukraine, Kyiv), then sent to the office of the International Society for the Protection of Birds (UK, Bird life international). The conclusions of the action are published in national and international ornithological journals.

Birds are some of the most beloved wildlife objects that humans are accustomed to watching. They have become an integral part of human existence. It is for these reasons that they are given every human attention, including the celebration of special dates at the international level.

Young biologists of Mykolaiv Zoo also carried out such ecological action in the territory of a zoo. They got acquainted with the rich avifauna of the zoo, learned about bird species and ornithological tourism. A tour about the birds of the Red List of Ukraine that live in our zoo was conducted. The children also got acquainted with the method of studying birds using modern gadgets. With the help of sound recordings, the young naturalists learned to recognize birds by their voices.
