Several months ago porcupines were out of the collection of Mykolaiv Zoo because of the natural age reason. We contacted our colleagues – specialists of Odesa Zoo with an offer of exchange. Partnership has long been established between our zoos so an exchange of animals has taken place. On June 23, 2021, a pair of Indian crested porcupines (Lat. Hystrix indica) named Murat and Kira, born in 2018, came to us, and four Egyptian geese (Lat. Alopochen aegyptiaca) went to Odesa Zoo.
New inhabitants of Mykolaiv Zoo underwent the road trip well, and now they are actively studying their new enclosure where you can see them.
