Column "House for animals. The zoo through the eyes of an architect."

On December 3, we are launching a new photo project – the column "House for animals. The zoo through the eyes of an architect".

Right now, when the leaves fell and treetops do not cover the view, you can get a good look at the zoo buildings – enclosures for keeping a variety of animals. We offer you to look at the zoo through the eyes of an architect, designer, engineer, builder.

We hope that looking at the photos of this project, you will think about how much experience, professionalism, technical knowledge and knowledge of animal biology is needed in order to design and build strong, durable and comfortable houses for animals! For monkeys and elephants, for giraffes and pelicans! How much creative work and imagination is needed to make the enclosures interesting for visitors, convenient for watching animals and beautiful!

We will show you the buildings of the zoo, which are more than forty years old, reconstructed buildings and enclosures, which are just now in the final stages of construction. We will also show you the features of the decor, elements of enrichment of the environment and educational use of visual methods. We hope that this photo project will be interesting for our colleagues, our visitors and all animal lovers.

And the photo review begins showing the most atmospheric object of the zoo – the ethnographic yard "Grandfather's hut", which is also a place for keeping domestic animals. We hope that our realistic and creative photos will help you feel the atmosphere of a real old manor.

And do not forget to visit the animals of "Grandfather's hut". They are available for observation even now, in the winter during the quarantine period.
