The rose is the queen of flowers.

The garden rose (Lat. Rósa) belongs to the genus Rosa. The word rose is a borrowing from the modern Greek language: from τριάντα "thirty" (petals), which arose as a result of the Greek abbreviation τριαντάφυλλο – "thirty-leaf clover".

Roses are one of the most popular plants in the world. Today scientists have identified about a hundred species and more than 10,000 varieties of these magical flowers. They began to be grown about two and a half thousand years ago, and since then they have spread widely around the world. The rose is one of the symbols of love.
