"Zoo from reserves" is the name of the new educational project prepared for you by Mykolaiv Zoo staff and our young biologists.
Every zoo is a large museum of living nature. And like a real museum, it has its "reserves", because, as in an ordinary museum, the exhibition spaces do not always accommodate all the "exhibits". We have quite a lot of interesting and spectacular animals for which there was not enough space in the exposition, and therefore you cannot see them. First of all, this applies to the oldest department of Mykolaiv Zoo – Aquaterrarium, because this department does not have its own exhibition space and terrariums and aquariums are located in the lobby of the conference hall and in the premises of the primate department.
In order for you to get to know such animals, the zoo's young biologists have come up with a series of educational lectures "Zoo from reserves". During the lectures, you will be able to get acquainted with interesting species of reptiles, invertebrates, small rodents, etc. that are currently unavailable for inspection.
Today, our visitors had the opportunity to get to know the interesting inhabitants of Mykolaiv Zoo from different parts of the world: giant African land snails, snakes from America, ornate mastigure from Asia. The main organizers of the lectures are young biologists. They act as designers and decorators, tour guides and animators, zoo technicians and photographers. We would like to thank lecturers and animators Varvara Vasylyk and Milada Strushlyak, photographer Oleksandra Solodova, designer and administrator Mykyta Kovalenko, decorators Polina Panchenko and Kira Abushek, and young zoo technician Oleg Kovalenko for their participation.
We plan to continue such lectures. Follow our announcements.
